Dunno, but I like it a lot. Tyres are overkill, but otherwise its pretty sweet - pretty much standard apart from the custom arches.

well i suppose from a styling point of view they look cool, but they are way too wide for the car, unless hes got a rear engine!

to be fair the front wheels are a good width, would be better with same on the back IMO. But agreed, the overall look is cool. One of the best ever vw colours too - mars red.

Does having wider wheels on the back need modification and does it do anything to the handling?

Yeah, looks like hes had some bigger arches, possibly mk2 golf ones, or had the standard ones extended. Will make the handling worse, cos the tyre is too wide, will never get warmed up properly, so will grip less, also having wheels that wide will cause the car to tramline, and affect the steering too i would have thought, I cant tell from the photo, but those have got to be at least 7" on the back. Also having really low profile tyres will make the ride mega harsh on the back of a mk2 polo. Its harsh enough on mine as it is!

Is it possible to have arch extensions like that and have wheels that fill 'em and not affect the handling?
Would the width of the front wheels fill the rear arch?

for sure, it all depends if you wanna go for the all out euro look, like this guy has done, of go for a mix of style and practicallity, 7 inch wide wheels will be ok in terms of the handling i would have thought, though 6 inch would be better. The standard arches are ok though IMO.

also the rozzers, and mot man wont like it if the wheels stick out beyond the arches. This one is JUST about ok.
