Just wondering how many people have broken their 02A boxes? Ive read stories that anything above 350ftlbs destroys them but what is a safe limit , also that launching on the stock diff makes it 'explode'? Just dont want to destroy my box midway through a track day.
I had about 8 02A/C and O2J gearboxes fail on me. With about 360hp and 450Nm and above they started to selfdestruct, mostly 3rd gear failures but also 4 and 5 and breaking the output shaft out of the bellhouse. SQS and Drenth gears started to break at about 500hp and 600Nm (3th gear)and again breaking the bellhouse. Quaife and Gemini gears were much better but case flex made them break also. I swapped to 02M boxes and never had those problems again.
