Pah, infidels the lot of you. What you need is a G in a mk1 Polo. High torque, low weight, lovely induction note. A few thousand change from both of those too.

    LOL@SutherlandM.

Love the way all my threads get hijacked nowadays and descend immediately into 'my car's better than yours'! I mean, G40 Polos are jolly nice, but have absolutely no relevance to this thread whatsoever!

Oh and BHP equals torque times thingummy over whatjemacallits divided by...

    Cheers,

    Drew.

    Consider me learned. [:$]

Stu, twin inlet flowed charger with 65mm pulley and chip, flowed GT inlet manifold into flowed head with reground cam out through flowed decat downpipe should sound quite good and go quite well too [:$] :)

ah but those are in a certain gear. and lets face it, if you care about half a second difference getting from 50-70, you'd be in 3rd in the vr6.

all this "bhp means nothing, its a multiple of torque" is all well and good, but if a torquey diesel cant rev above 5000 rpm then its going to need longer gears, which take the torque away again at the wheels.

Besides a VR6 is one of the best sounding engines ever. versus a diesel. tough choice! I mean if you care about economy then why are you ragging it in the first place?

That'll go very well indeed in a Mk1! If your Polo has as many weight saving (read rust) measures as mine it'll be like a rocket!

What are you doing with the brakes? Looking at uprating mine at the moment.

This is well off topic, I know! [:$]
