    yes......however, the 16v never ran (broke it instead), ut have driven 16v's

    I want a 16v. Just to try it.

    But i dont think i could live with the lack of torque. :(

    ive had both, had a few 8valve mk2's in standard form and a 16v in standard form.

    not starting any arguments here. my own view is that the 16v beats the 8v in evry possible way. i can see where the argument is, allthough they do use more fuel!?

    depends what you want it for,

    town driving with occasional country blast...8v

    out and out flat out performance, track use, etc...16v

    I'd use an 8v to look at on the drive and use the 16v for everything else ;) :lol:

    i used to have a 130pd audi, the 8v has more torque. luff it to the max

    i like the challenge of driving a 16v with so little around town torque, infact intown i often have to ask passers by to help push on slight uphills as over lowered kerbs as it lacks torque so badly.

    if you want ginormous amounts of ocean liner style torque then a 8v is clearly the way ahead

    i have a 16v abf mk3. i suppose the Gargantuan weight doesnt help, but the lack of torque means that i have to drop the clutch at 6 grand to get up the driveway. sometimes it doesnt even get up the driveway first time
