Can anyone answer this for me please (sorry if it been ask b4 loads of times) but how comes some Mk3's are four stud wheel and some 5 stud , myself presumed it was to do with say early Mk3's were 4 stud as perhaps VW using leftovers of Mk2 bits and as the later Mk3's came along they changed to 5 stud as they was changing over to the Mk4's , but whats been confusing me is I have seen some early Mk3's with 5 stud and 4 stud and late ones with 4 stud like R reg ones even , the reason I ask this is that every time I see any alloys that I like for my GTI and can afford , they always seem to be 4 stud LoL thanks for any info Martin
As far as I know, CL, GL & GT Golfs are 4 stud, regardless of the year. GTI's, VR6's & GTI TDI's are 5 stud regardless of the year.
As above, except TDIs are also 4 stud. The GTI, 16v and VR6 are always 5 stud. Note the Vento and Cabrio with the 2.0 8v 'GTI' engine are also 4 stud, and not badged as a GTI either.
Yep, they do exist. Annis was available with 8v & 16v gti engines and the 110hp TDI (AFN). I've seen two GTI TDI's in flesh and they do have the 5 lug running gear. Didn't realize that these were not available in the UK.
we didnt get the tdi anniversary either! another thing to add to the list of cool stuff europe got and we didint
If you want to go with a TDI anniversary, i would try and search for the Austrian one. Only 20 Jahre (anniversary) part from UK, That got it limited: I just bought a "Cool thing" from a 20 jahre (sorry 20th Anniversary, for you guys). That i realized i didnt need Was a standard thing in every 20th Anniversrary part from UK. The Nokia DSP:
