an idea from a current thread

i was thinking the other way around.
when you see 16v turbo or s/c cars that use 20v inlets.
16v bottom part mani, using injectors+rail. mated/welded to the 20v runner. 16v tb to that. filter to that.
a short runner/intake system. would this be advantagous in any way?

i hope tshirt2k doesnt mind me robbing this. but it gives an idea

er, thats my plan. tb with jetex filter!

The whole 20v plenum on 16v was a cheap and easy method I discovered of obtaining a suitable plenum, when attempting to force induce 16v motors supercharged and turbo. This was after having the experience of hunting down a 3B S2 inlet and giving up. The manifold in the picture was an improved copy of the original design fabricated for the WOLF R. It is not a full 20v inlet but a hybrid of a 16v and 20v parts.

would a shorter (it would be almost direct) intake route be of any real power/torque benefit? more like carbs or tb's

or does the design of the longer intake route create more of a vacume?

My 50mm is getting verry hot on the track. I would like my engine to breathe better fresh air and get a better pedal response.

My goal is not to get more Hp but not lose some.
