Will mk3 golf seat belts fit mk2 ?

Hi guys I'm looking to buy some red seat belts and I can only find mk3 anniversary ones but will they fit my mk2 3dr golf ?

 

Interesting. I need a new passenger seat belt, if you can this could save me a few pennies.

 

A mate did this with some anniversary ones into a mk2.

They weren't a direct fit. The mountings are all different.

In the end, he cut the mountings off both sets and welded the mk2 brackets around the mk3 belts if that makes sense?

I'm sure there was someone selling red belts on ebay that would fit but they were mega expensive custom jobbies
