thinking about it i did suffer a similar prob on my k-jet, this was due to a clogged fuel filter. its an easy job on a digifant so worth a try i guess!
Hi, i have bveen having the same problem, I got the car a few weeks ago and while driving it to my friends garage, the car died and would not restart. Upon inspection the timing seemd to be out. After lining up all the timing marks, fitting the belt, the cam was 180 degrees out, the only thing i can think of is that the woodruf key in the cam has snapped. and thats how the timing has moved. Unless anyone knows as to why? are the timing marks on the Mk3 Golf 2.0l engine diffrent? It was set to TDC on the fly wheel and piston 1 was at TDC I have the same 2L converstion, i will be checking this tonight and keep you all posted. Is this a possabilty with yours?
