I have a 87 gti that has a wierd problem. If I use the front wipers they work fine but if I turn them off they will go into intermittant wiper mode until I shut off the car. Could this be a stuck relay or something. I hear the relay click as the wipers move.
Seems more likely to be the contacts in the wiper stalk on your steering column, build up of dirt, fluff etc, or loose/damaged. having read that again, if the wipers are ok when you restart the car, yes it could be a dodgy relay. Try taking it out and putting it back in, and use electrical contact spray if you have any. Edited by: prowler
