    Hello!

I’m currently stripping my Mk2 for a full rebuild and eventually, a 20vt swap. I’m collecting lots of parts at the moment and have came across a thought with regards to my loom.

My intention was to strip the Mk2 loom out and send that along with my Mk4 loom to someone to do all the hard work for me. Getting rid of unnecessary bits at the same time.

I used my Mk4 Gti (AGU) for a couple of years before parting it out and keeping the bits for the swap - however, I now can’t find my loom anywhere (i think I’ve lost it during a house move). I was thinking of just buying an AGU loom and being back to where I was ... but then I’ve started thinking about taking the DBW route.

If I was to go DBW, what is the best route to take with regards to a new loom. Do I need to still get an AGU loom and have it adapted, or am I better off getting a loom from a DBW car?

    Thanks!

    Ross

At this junction, just get the loom off a MK4 2001 onwards AUM motor. Get one of the loom builders to convert it for you in a rapid turnaround, or you can have a go following links on this forum.

James E Looms, William Skelton, Chris Bellman, Mr Newman.

I’m attempting my own, it’s not too difficult if you’ve got the time and space.

    James E Looms just did two of mine for a CE1 MK1 AUM 20vT and a CE2 MK2 VR6 24v

Makes life really easy and largely plug and play.

I have had cars belonging to clients who had the looms done by William also.

William is in Scotland and James is down here near Slough.

I sent the ecu to get the immo deleted, now the ecu got ruined by this person and damaged the eeprom. He Found another ecu but parts numbers dont match.
Mine is from beetle 2002 v5 AQN 20v part number 066-906-032AP manual gearbox
The one i got is 066-906-032AK from bora same engine but automatic.
    Will that be an issue?
