Phew! finally dropped the front subframe out my doner valver(5ft
breaker bar!). Got the powersteering rack, 256mm hubs, etc.
off. Now i've got the absolute mission of fitting it all to my
    current valver!

I have a query with the wishbones and the bushes though. Seen new
ones on GSF for roughly 15beans a peice and just want some inf on how
the f#@*k i get the bushes in?! I'm looking at the powerflex ones
if that helps, but looking at my current wishbones i have no idea how
to get the bushes out, let alone get the powerflex ones in.

Anyone got any advice on how to do this?

Front wishbone bush easy to get out. Hold wishbone in vice and knock out with hammer. Use the front wishbone to subframe bolt.Put it through bush and smack it out.

Rear bush more tricky. Hold wishbone tight in a vice. Get a blunt object like a half inch socket extension. Locate the metal edge around the rubber bush. Place blunt object on metal edge at 12 o'clock. Hit real f#### hard. Repeat at 6 o'clock then 3 then 9. You should see bush slowly edge out from wishbone.

This is how I did mine. Be interesting to see if you can get the Powereflex bush to fit in the rear mounting hole. I couldn't and am now stumped! Let me know...

Cheers for the advice brown bomber, although i found the fronts to be a
real b@stard of a job to get out. Really had to smack em
hard. The rears with the flimsy (now completely mangled) split
sleeve were very easy. Tried the bolt through the middle trick
and then smacked once with a hammer and out it came! :p

Definately getting new wishbones though. They took some real
hammer abuse and the corrosion just ain't worth the 30 i could spend
    on the new uns.

Looking at the old bushes i reckon i could just press them in with a vice no probs.

Only issue i've got now is whether or not the powerflex bushes come with those (delicate) split sleeves or not.[:s]

I'll order the bushes first then, just to be sure! GSF are priced up at only 50p ea. mind.

Was gonna go to venom for the bushes, and a set of the eibach lowering
springs whilst i'm at it. Unless of course anyone knows somewhere
    cheaper...;)

My mk2 golf bushes came with the split sleeves. Thought they are needed to centralise the bush into the subframe. Otherwise wishbone all sloppy at the rear?

Well was going to order from Venom but went on the Big Boys Toys site and had a look. Muchos Cheapos!

    New dilema mind!

    - How do the Bugpack bushes compare with the powerflex
jobbies? They are pennies in comparison, but do they perform? and
    more importantly will they last?

Plenty of people running both without problems, personally I went powerflex all round 3 years ago and I`ve got no complaints.

Full kit arrived yesterday... looks pretty good. Well impressed with em.

As far as the wishbone bush with the split sleeve goes, you don't need
the sleeve! The bush is totally different and locates itself.
