Fella I used to work with had a 16v corolla, old style. Powerwashed the engine, and then it wouldn't start - not even a sniff. Rang me at work, I went a mile up the road - all 4 plug holes filled with soapy water. Blew them out with the tyre airline, it started on 2 and then once it warmed up a bit it dried out and ran fine. He only had 3 fingers on one hand, put one into a silage machine thing when he was 6 years old. Just thought I'd throw that one in. *That's what he said*!
He really did have 3 fingers on one hand BTW. Showed a girl we were working with once and she shouted "OH GOD! THAT'S DISGUSTING", before she realised what she'd said.
yeah just done it the day i already had 1 apparently bought 1 4 boat engine. they were all above the 10bar mark which is above the minium and within the 3 bar maximum premissible difference between any two cylinders. i'm not smart said that in haynes manual also change the dissy cap and rotor arm as they were totally f@*ked runs fine only problem is that its spitting out black watery oil out of exhaust which i'm sure is bad news. any 1 no wat this is.[:^(]
Condensation from a cold start, mixed with soot from the exhaust. Not something to worry about unless it keeps happening once it's up to temp.
Oh btw, 10 bar is useless for an engine - you should see more like 170-210psi (1 bar is 14.5 psi) on a healthy one. If you buy a compression gauge not made for boats, hehe. Haynes is called "The book of lies" for good reason...
cheers hopefully nothing 2 worry about then i'll keep an eye on it. it runs spot on with dissy and rotor arm so i'll just hope for the best. its not a compression tester 4 boats just used it on boat engine. i'm gonna change oil radiator and new anti freeze the morra.
