Would you pay 1,595 for this mk2 gti?

saw this on auto trader bit out of my price rang haw much would you pay or could get off the asking price?

MK 2 golf gti,5 Door Hatchback,49000 miles, Black, Petrol, Manual,one owner,stored last seven years,starts and drives,lots of old mots ect,needs TLC. 1,595.

I'd be cheeky (standing for 7 years, starting or not, is a big minus), and go in at 1200.

It doesnt look in good condition to me......has no one seen the rust on the tailgate.....i wouldn't even pay 500. Much better mk2's out there, so what if they have more mileage they'll still be better.

Nowhere near 1500 - maybe 500, but only if it's solid underneath. Needs a good look over.

Given it's been stored for 7 years it'll probably need new brakes, tyres all round, battery and a damn good service at least.

That kinda money will get you a very tidy and well maintained higher miler for sure...

I agree with everyone above. You might be better looking for one in better condition. I think mileage become less important with cars this age as they'll all need some work anyway

i thought i would just show you guys as i was shocked at the price but I'm looking to restore a mk2 but not this one even if it has under 50.000 i just feel sorry for the poor guy that is going to buy that car as it is prob rusted to since my mk3 had sat around for a year and that was pretty bad lol
