saw this on auto trader bit out of my price rang haw much would you pay or could get off the asking price? MK 2 golf gti,5 Door Hatchback,49000 miles, Black, Petrol, Manual, one owner, stored last seven years, starts and drives, lots of old mots ect, needs TLC. 1,595. let me know what you think? see pics http://search.autotrader.co.uk/es-u...icleYearOfManufacture=1985&vehicleRegLetter=C
no go in even lower say 500 for first offer he probably looking for 1200 and you dont want to pay that much
It doesnt look in good condition to me......has no one seen the rust on the tailgate.....i wouldn't even pay 500. Much better mk2's out there, so what if they have more mileage they'll still be better.
1600 AND needs TLC? Who are they trying to kid? Given it's been stored for 7 years it'll probably need new brakes, tyres all round, battery and a damn good service at least. That kinda money will get you a very tidy and well maintained higher miler for sure...
Sam, tempted by the Mk2 now....... I agree with everyone above. You might be better looking for one in better condition. I think mileage become less important with cars this age as they'll all need some work anyway
I'd put my money towards something like the below....... now sold but you get the idea http://www.pistonheads.com/sales/937078.htm Trying to tempt you into 16v territory
i thought i would just show you guys as i was shocked at the price but I'm looking to restore a mk2 but not this one even if it has under 50.000 i just feel sorry for the poor guy that is going to buy that car as it is prob rusted to since my mk3 had sat around for a year and that was pretty bad lol
Would I pay 1,595 for that? Are you joking? 595 would still be double what it's worth low miles or not! So why would you put a thread up asking how much you reckon you could get off the price..?
