Wrong Fuel Tank fitted to my Golf GTD....

Golf GTD MkII 1990.

I need a new fuel tank - can I get a fuel tank from a Petrol MkII and swap over the fuel filler neck adaptors? There is the little flap/adaptor thing that stops you putting Diesel into your Petrol tank as the forecourt pump nozzles are different widths...

So are the tanks completely different or can I just swap over the filler neck bits and bobs?

No metion of diesel tank on that page though, Ill have another look

 

Yeah - this is:

1) my first mkII!
2) my first diesel!

Lovin both!

Make a change to the VR6 - especially in the fuel bills...!

Where did you get the GTD from Jules??? Been looking for one for sale in Essex for ages with no luck

 

@damo - I snatched it off eBay - the guy lived in Billericay so I went round and offered cash.

You dont see many about - quite rare I suppose?!?
