You have got to love ISVs... how about ECU temp sensors for an ABF?!?

    OK OK,
So it's a classic tale- the ABF wont idle... well, it will with the charcoal cannister airway unblocked... clearly it's a case of the ISV not working properly... so I grab one from a mk2 8v Digi. This unit doesn't buzz; but it will let the engine idle now- even with the charcoal port blocked...is this new unit functioning properly if it isn't buzzing?!

The engine runs rich and isn't smooth, but at least it idles!

Could it be this new ISV? Or, could it be the ECU>temp sensor?
There's one on ebay right now and the guy is listing an OEM part number: 025906041A

    Suggestions!?

where do you live? can you borrow an ABF one locally?

put a multimeter across the ecu water temp sensor and read the resistance. the loom ought to have 5v across that part too

    Cheers Matt,
I'm based in Worcestershire and getting hold of an ISV is proving difficult!
I'll check the temp sensor voltage- I have a feeling it is a combination of the two...
