You pick up a mk1 GTi with a 16v conversion in for 700 and it drives home ok. Your even more lucky when you realise its got koni top adjustables already fitted. A bit more lucky again when you pick up 4 Oz SuperT's for 100. And start getting really lucky when you jack the car up to check the diameter of the 4 branch to make sure the jetex exhaust you've ordered is the correct diameter (2.5inch) and decide to rub the crap off the arb's (been stored in a barn so underside covered in cow poo) to find them shiny black (and looking uprated - any way to check?) and poly bushed already. And to top it all off Demon Tweeks send you an email saying they've misquoted you on said Jetex Rally/Competition exhaust and instead of 202+vat for a complete system its now 165+vat. Think i'll try the lottery on Saturday too
Can't believe how lucky i have been actually, well under my proposed budget due to my outstanding good luck. And as another bonus an oil leak on my Merc turned out to be a rubber seal which had perished and not a HG or top end rebuild as expected Definitly trying the lottery now!
