135 mph in a Jag S-Type. Overtook a fully marked up Volvo traffic car in the process. Then again, I was on the high-speed bowl at Millbrook.
off the clock in my old mk2 (mk2 16v 160mph clocks) ask tubs i was going past him at one point doing it although with the 7300rpm redline i can only hit a calculated 158mph with my gearbox. (roll on solid lifters and a big turbo.. hmmm what next).
152 mph = 67.95008 m / s ...in my vr6...on a test track obviously! speedo's probably not that accurate at those speeds tho. Edited by: acf8181
Its just a 225 with a chip of unknown origin!! its allso had other bits done, but i dont know what! there are some samco pipes and an aftermarket dump valve, but i really dont know what its had done [:^(]
150mph in my MG but it didnt do it for long as i thought we were going to have lift off that and i suddenly thought if i get caught doing this i'll be in a fair amount of poo (and i thought i might cause a hgf ) so ive not been over 100mph since...... apart from 130mph in the 156 it had nothing left to give
I had about 300mph out of my old xr3i. Put the end of the speedo cable in the drill! Not that i was trying to clock it or anything.
had well off the clock in my old 8v GTI (120+) And as a passenger in a type R 4 up, we went off the end of the clock, so thats an indicated 165mph. That was fun!
92 in Mk2 Polo 1.0 (scarier than it sounds) 140 in Mk2 16v 145 in E46 325 BM 175+ in RX7 All indicated.
no one going to question andy's 135mph in a standard 8v 147mph (ish) 'inidtcated' in my valver with a passenger to witness 185mph on the one litre beast
Not so much a peak speed, as a cruising velocity on the autobahn Matches 100% to the GPS speed on the satnav due to my silly wheels. Saw just over 150 on the A47 (i think) in my old 911. Slowed down a bit after a gust of crosswind made me change lanes involuntarily. - Lesson: Always keep 1/2 a tank or more of fuel up front in an old 911, or the front gets a bit light at speed.
Just over an indicated 135mph in my old G40, not very stable at those speeds, was hanging onto my tiny momo wheel pretty tightly Alan
yup! At around as fast as a mk2 8v would go when new. A brand new RE71 let go and made 3 fully grown men crap thier corduroys like little babies. I have no idea how fast my little mk1 driver goes. I reckon about 125 ish when aerodynamics call a halt. Edited by: Unknown
