Got to discussing over a few (more than) drinks the other evening ......

You usually get three pieces - going in, in the middle and the bit that finally sees you off.

Bearing in mind the occasion, what would you chose for your own funeral (and why)? What would your choices say about you?

I've definitely decided on Karl Jenkins something or other, but can't make my mind up for the others.

I'd have "Chirpy Chirpy Cheep Cheep", followed by "I Drink Alone" (George Thorogood), then "I wish I could fly (but I can't)" by Orville.

To start things off I think I'd want Joni Mitchell's Both Sides Now; beautiful, beautiful song.

Then I'd have Bob Marley's Redemption Song; not that I believe in Redemption, mind, but another one that moves me.

Can't decide on a third one, something like The Pogues' Hell's Ditch, maybe  .

Brilliant tune, one of the best pieces of acoustic music ever.

Christ I probably have a massive list of possible funeral music, it seems to change every few months, usually when drunk. F**k knows what will actually end up getting played, but a few contenders are :

    Vessel In Vain - Smog
Green Day - Good Riddance (Time Of Your Life)
Peggy Lee - Is that all there is?
    Eddie Vedder - Society
Roger McGuinn - Ballad Of Easy Rider
Mazzy Star - Fade Into You
Matt Monroe - On Days Like These
Yann Tiersen - Comptine d'un Autre Et L'aprs Midi
Dave Brubeck Quartet - Take five
