These two are all i have hooked up for the obd socket. Top wire from immobiliser box that I no longer need as de immobilized ecu and bottom wire direct from obd socket.
I have no more diagnostics wiring I can see. Is this all!?

You need a +12v and two grounds if you ever want to use vag-com

If you want some fun bedtime reading the KWP2000 is the protocol used for serial communication down a single wire.

My rear bumper had a snapped guide and would poke out on the drivers side. I bought a new guide but the original one was plastic welded into the bumper. Here's how I swapped it...

Cut the broken one into quarters...
    rsz_20180220_102552.jpg

Ideally using a mini blow torch like used in the kitchen or just a powerful lighter - heat up the ball of plastic and twist off the piece of guide...
    rsz_20180220_102610.jpg

Repeat for all 4 pieces and test fit the new guide.
Then again warm up the plastic 'nubs' and flatten onto the guide face and insert self tapper to each corner...

New plastic slider fitted both sides...

Fits perfect now and looks fresh and straight!

New Darkside rear mount fitted in prep for the Garrett turbo
    rsz_20180207_155236.jpg

It is apparent after test fitting the turbo that I'll need to chop the rubber mount so new one bought (even though it's going to be cut up lol)

    Original vs Upgrade
    rsz_20180220_152907.jpg

Doesn't look so big but it's a fair upgrade!

Found the turbo (gt1749vb) on eBay for 125.

Only had slight play in the shaft but gave it a quick rebuild as its on the bench anyway.

Stripped down and the vanes looking sooted up...
    rsz_20180117_162322.jpg

Gave the VNT and the housing a soak in jizer over night and it came out looking brand new! Top stuff for cleaning.
    rsz_20180117_165611.jpg

    And refitted...
    rsz_20180120_171950.jpg

New CHRA sourced and fitted. Already balanced...
    rsz_20180120_173547.jpg

New Garrett actuator fitted for good measure...
    rsz_20180120_173552.jpg

I set the actuator up using a vacuum hand gun pump with pressure gauge. Once I can road test, this can be adjusted if necessary.

Just waiting for the weather to warm up so I can go fit it and fit the 2.5" Darkside downpipe [:D]

Can anyone recommend a solution for the intake air temperature sensor?

The current one is located within the stock plastic boost pipe but I won't be using this.
Is there something suitable out there that can be used and just wired into my existing loom? Read a few things on here but nothing of help.

    Thanks, Rich.

Would it be possible to get a iat and map all in one? That i can fit into a custom intercooler pipe? That would save a whole lot of messing!

Edit * found one at dark side developments with the wiring that solves both inlet temp and map issues that I've been trying to solve.
    Job done!

Really happy with the paint. Yes, the place is about 3 miles from me and he has the local contract for Mercedes work so can be busy with other stuff.
It's in Doncaster, where are you located?

I'm Worcestershire based. I have a few good options around here that I will investigate over the next few weeks. Primarily I want the bonnet painted and one wing replaced and painted so in all honesty I suspect I'll end up painting the entire front end but then the rest of the car won't look as good... hmmm...
