2012 Edition... Killer Elite Great fight scenes, awesome cast and most importantly 70's and 80's car porn. Who cares about the slightly loopy storyline or it's fact-or-fiction basis? Nine dead bodies out of ten. Muppets Good clean family fun that's entertaining for adults too 10/10
i too saw killer elite but it was just a tad too long for me so gave it 7/10 you going soft and old on us
I saw Bad Teacher last night on Sky (nothing great on) Now I would rate it maybe 6/10 but I only took notice when cameron diaz was on screen and was being dry humped !!! lol
Robin Hood - Russell Crowe version - a bit disappointing but at least Crowe had a more believable English accent, unlike Costner LOL. Scored it: 7/10 Marnie- by Hitchcock - Sean Connery - sexploitation movie made in early 60's. Brilliant camera work - dodgy painted backdrops - but a good old tense thriller. Scored it 8.5/10
Girl With The Dragon Tattoo. Yeah it's long but it didn't feel too long at the cinema. Keeps you guessing and wanting to know what happens. Gruesome in parts too.
If it's still on at cinema I'd like to go see that - Haven't a clue what it's all about ( apart from there being a girl in it with some tattoo lol) but it sounds intriguing :-)
That's the best way to go into that film. Don't read anything about it. I didn't, and generally don't. It will keep you entertained for the duration!
Or read the (great) book Also watch the swedish film as they subtly missed out bits/changed bits too.
I agree re: not reading any reviews before hand. Looks like it's not on cinema any more having just checked. Will have to borrow the DVD :-) Going back to my poor review of Robin Hood -- There's no suspense as you know all along pretty much what a hero he is.
I might try the Swedish film first. Cheers for the headsup. I like a bit of world cinema. Started to watch Skycrawlers the other night - Japanese Anime - second hand from CEX - The disc failed half way thru[:^(] - Took it back and found another copy on the shelf which they happily swapped for me It's very intense animated film, starting with a very dynamic opening sequence. It's a bit of a mysterious story too. Can't wait to get some more time to see the rest of it
Mr poppers penguins. 6/10 kids enjoyed it. jim is starting to lose his youthful appearence . rio another kids flick 7/10
Melancholia (Lars von trier)-slow tracking shots, classical music slow slow intro-so trying to be arty its painful-after 10 mins i hated this film and felt the director had lost me as the audience, after 30mins i didn't like the actors. best bit was kirsten dunst laid naked on a rock. 4/10 NIM Film about a chimp that learns sign language, smokes pot, humps cat, cameo in cheech n chong film, etc etc. A GOOD FILM. 9/10
horrible bosses - better than one expected, no real laugh out loud moments, but consistent enough. Story seemed to wobble about some times, but colin farrell's turn in it was hilarious. 7 comb-overs out of 10
extremely loud and incredibly close-story leads you to a crappy end after making you think something excitings going to happen at the end. 5/10 gonna watch chronicle tonight, adverts looks promising.
