Think it's the other side of the head at the back From what I saw of the kit I could be wrong though Will look and see if I can find the one I saw
Aye that looks good ian this is what I found you can see the second one on the right http://forums.vwvortex.com/showthread.php?5922169-New-integrated-engineering-mkv-r32-sai-blockoff-plate-kit
Ever did I till I was looking at blanks I can't see why they don't just blank it like you did I am hoping the second one is the same as the one you have already blanked And i'd just make the blanks myself
personally i would leave the wires in but cut, since without the wires in place the rear of the plug is no longer waterproof. you can get round plugs for the junior timer pins but the mini ecu pin seals are just a lump of rubber which is pierced thru when the wires are added. smear o silicone would do the job tho
Ah that's decent Ian - Wish I had known that the diaphragm valve was a separate piece as I eventually found out earlier today (just seen your post now) Just lifted all the SAI gubbins out today and will attack the wiring sometime this week. Big thanks to Eddie for coding it out in the first place
That a blessing then hope mine is the same Will have to look me engine number up and see what year and month it is I'll put a list up so you can check yours Mine is ment to be a 2007 but how true that is I'm not sure
Ah I need to check my engine number- If the sticker has gone, supposedly its stamped into the block above the crank pulley I'm gonna check it tomorrow morn
my ETKA only lists BUB engines up to 2006 BUB0105264 is from 30.3.2006 on will have a dig into this as it's something i'd like to find out as well
Anyone any suggestions on decent loom tape at a reasonable price as I'm just about ready to strip out the SAI wiring? Edit: Bought a 25m roll of TESA cloth tape so hopefully more than enough to re-wrap the potion from under the battery tray to the bulkhead box
I bought 10 rolls of loom tape thinking I would use loads, only to end up using a little over 1 of them doing the 20v loom into my mk2 Sent from my iPad using Tapatalk
I use tesa or scapa rayon loom tape, whatever bulk deal comes up bargainous on the bay of e. usually scapa as tends to be way cheaper than tesa, exactly the same gear though. i also use coroplast make as well, usually thats the cheapest for the more fury stuff used inside the car on the mk4 and again is same quality as equivalent tesa or scapa stuff. 10 rolls is excessive for sure, thats the kind of bulk I buy in and it still lasts me ages
Started ripping all this wiring out tonight. Typically it hasn't rained for weeks so guess what happens next? Heavens open. Rain wasn't the game stopper as it turns out I am light on PVC tape and also came across a sneaky boobytap as well; I discovered a grey/black wire soldered onto the blue/yellow 12V switched feed under the twin Relay box. I traced it back and it appears to go into a small black plastic box under the intake snorkel mounted to the inner wing just behind the headlight. Jonny do you have any idea what this might be as it would likely save me a few hours trailing through ELSA? It's shown below coiled up and it disappears into a plastic box pretty much to the right of where the fuse bus/terminal block is hanging:
Traced this weird additional wire back to multiplug T14a - it is soldered to wire 14 (Grey/Blue) - Trouble is I cant find any reference to pin 14 in the VW diagrams! I'm tempted to hook the battery up and try to start it and then get VCDS on it to see if any codes are logged. Ah- Think I may just have found it. I'm looking on a 2.8 wiring diagram (facepalm) doh! Pin 14 is for the exhaust flapper valve N321 - It's tied high so guessing this will throw a fault if disconnected. VCDS laptop is getting dusted off!
aye i'm sure your right about it being the exhaust flapper john email me the wiring diagrams a while back this is what i think your looking at if you need the pdf i'll send it to you
