R32 N112 SAI removal of wiring and relay.

    Is there any decent info on this?

    There are lots of connectors for the pump and relay including a couple of large red wires which may do other things. Also the blue/yellow wire that seems to go all round the loom to MAF, injectors and more.

    Can anyone offer any advice in this?

    i removed the lot anything related to it i binned and blanked it of on the side of the head. if i remember right blue yellow wire is the switched live for it all

    the blue/yellow is a fuel pump live, you can either use it for something else handy such as supplying the t14a plug fuel pump feed, or trace it back to the join in the loom and snip it out.

    as above start with the relay and bin all the rubbish attached to it as well as the valve plug and wires, then you're done. it will flag a code but you can code this function out. speak to Toyotec for this, as well as having carbon canister coded out and after cat lambda probes etc :)

    I'll take a few pics when I start taking it out, I think the big red wires scare me, too many films say 'dont cut the red one'. Could I use the blue/yellow for a volt meter? I've got a few on their way from Hong Kong.

    I've spoke to Eddie and he can help :thumbup:

    the big red and red/white wires are easy, both connected straight to the sai relay so you dont even need to cut them just drag out from the loom :)

    blue/yellow could be used for a voltmeter if you like, this would tell you how the fuel voltage is doing if thats what you wanted to measure!

    Is there also a big red to the battery from the SAI?

    theres a big red battery live to the relay, and a big red/white from relay to the sai pump. theres a big brown from pump to a ring terminal which can just be removed. you have a couple ecu wires to relay and valve, these can be snipped off and taped up. then theres the blue/yellow fuel pump power which you can use or snip :)

    You only have 4 or 5 wires in total
    The red wire is only 2' long that will come out in one like John said about the other wires

    John I take it you only have the one yellow brown wire that go's to the ECU that needs cut or am I looking at the wrong plug

    there 2 ecu wires to chop, you got the grey/brown one for the relay control and the brown/yellow one for the SAI N112 valve control :)

    Cool I think in my case i'd keep the grey brown wire connected to the relay plate
    And bin the rest

    I've just carefully ragged the wires out.

    I'm left with 2 x blue/yellows (one from the relay, one from the N112 small plug) then 1 x brown/yellow (from n112 small plug) and 1x grey brown (from relay).

    Can these 4 be taped up into the loom?

    dose the brown yellow not go from the relay to the small plug and can be removed all together?

    No, it goes back into the loom towards the ecu bigger plug.

    it's the other wire i'm thinking of
    i was tinking if i did this was to take them back and feed them into the relay box and cut the fold the wire over and heat shrink them

    think you need to do a how to
    to make it easy for the rest of us [:D]

    seen one of the boys on the owners club did this on his build thread he recond it made a bit of a difference

    Here's a couple of pics:

    Plugs for the pump:

    Then all this was loose:

    Then I traced the 4 wires back towards the ecu and found the 2 blue/yellow wires to joint together, the other 2 go to the ecu plug:

    Had a quick look at this and if it helps anyone I've highlighted the parts to remove in red in the wiring diagrams:

    Edit:
    You can buy the junior timer tool from LASER for a few quid which means you can extract the loom right from the AMP plug - The tools is shown in the picture below - Its the thing with the blue handle:

    Remove the retaining slide clips (Purple things in the left of the picture):

    Then use the tool:

    Then put the purple retainers back in and job done :thumbup:

    I See PSI Tuning do a 'reasonably' priced blockoff plate - I've just bookmarked it for now and the better weather hopefully to come.

    good info al
    i think the mk5 engine needs two blanks to the mk4's one
    the second one is smaller
    Integrated Engineering make them for both mk4 and 5 but are twice the price of the CTS Turbo blank

    both the above are sold by psi Tuning but can only see the mk4 kit

    What get blanked off? Mines a mk5 engine but I only remember blanking off 1 thing where the coolant hose comes off the back of the head.
