RIGHT, mid-late 80s 5 cylinder VW and Audi engines (engine numbers KU and KV come to mind) have BIGGER throttle bodies FULL STOP! The smaller butterfly in the body is the same size BUT the larger butterfly is about 1/3 BIGGER! Part numbers 034 133 063 and 034 133 063 DC are ones that i looked up on ETKA. Found on Passats, Santanas, Audi 100, Audi Coupe....... I think someones hungry for words............[8(]

Seeing as we're on an ETKA trawl, have a look at the TB gasket. It's been exactly the same part since the '77 Audi 100, and the opening in the gasket is exactly the same size as the main throttle on the 'normal' KR throttlebody. If there were a TB 1/3 bigger it would be larger than the mounting face on the manifolds.

Anyway sunshine, why are you comparing it to a 16v tb? I thought this thread was about comparing it to a 8v k-jet tb? I'll find out tomorrow and if im wrong i'll admit it...... maybe.........;)

The mk1 boys cant use a mk2 1 as the linkages are different [:-B]
When we say the same we mean same size!

You're as funny as a wet fart.

Indeed, you're right, mk2 k-jet, digifant, 16v and the Audi 5 cyl tbs have the same size butterflys. MK1 Golf GTI (Sciroccos and Cabrios too) tbs are smaller than those. The reason why mk1 GTI boys use the bigger Audi tbs are because they share the same 'ball-joint' type cable, where as, the mk2 8v and16v are the 'hook round and clip' type.

BUT,before your head gets so big, you cant fit througha door, you DO NOT have a 034 133 063 throttle body, as you claim to have, you, in fact, have a 034 133 063AF. ALSO, the gasket in question, fits not only SOME Audi 100s from '77, but also fits RS2s, early S6s, Rallyes, some 4-motions, some Corrados, some Sciroccos..........

The next time you 'trawl' through ETKA, find someone who can read and count, because you clearly don't knowwhat you're doing.

Chill out, anyone would think I was telling everyone about your mothers pen1s.

Where did I say the gasket was only on the 77 A100? I know it's on half the VAG range for the last 25 years. The point I was making is that the gasket is the same dimension as the mounting face on the manifold, and that the throttles on all the bodies i've seen are also that same size, so there is no room for a '1/3 bigger' throttle on any of the said vehicles.

Back to the topic. Basically there is no bigger standard vw tb with the same size mounting plate for a mk2 gti. [|)]
