browsing through some old mags(1993),found this article by amd on improving 16v torque, also shows a torque curve using a exh cam as a inlet, makes interesting reading apart from the price [:s]

Yet comparing GVK's twin zorst cam and my standard KR cam setup we see some equally interesting results.... ;)

"Up to 2250 rpm the torque curves are virtually uniform with the split only widening above 4000rpm ... 16v romps on to it' peak at 4600 rpm..."

What happened to that thread where the 8v produces loads more torque bottom end ...

so, the torque was made with a flowed head, and 2 exaust cams!?!?

oh man.. how can i do a twin exaust setup!? i have a pair of ABF cams sitting in the garage!!

So how does the exhaust cam mod compare with the standard cams in the 2.0? It certainly works well in my 1.8, lots more low down and mid range torque and seems to have more peak power too.

it's not that simple......is it Tub

tubs has a 50mm manifold and KR cams

GVK has a 42mm maifold and twin exhaust cams

so who has the most low rev torque?.........

From that setup you would expect GVK's to have better low and midrage and mine to pull more up top.

Mines the red curve, GVK is blue.

Vince has always said the exhaust cam mod suits the KR more than a 2 litre.

The cam in mine was in ChrisPs old grey car (KR), it really made the car pull well in the mid range from what I can remember.

    anyone tried a 4-2-1 against a 4-1 manifold?

doesnt this give you a different spread of torque?

just need a bit of help on mine tbh.

just bought a 6a with kr head to put in my mk1. ive not yet had it running as theres a few niggles i need to work out yet but ive seen the dyno for it and on its last rr it was 168bhp with 143lb/ft torque, cant help but think thats a low amount of torque for that many ponies? is that normal?

btw it was running an 8v box when rr'd

Sounds a very feasible figure to me. Any idea where it was making peak power and peak torque?
