    Good Result..

All depends on the RR though. I get 140 atw @ TSR but my car is 160BHP at the fly max......

    Stealth gave me 155 fly & 123wheels

Wouldnt mine betting your figure would be 160-165 atfw from Stealth going by the spec, still a good 20BHP up on standard..

Any more is very difficult to achieve without flowed head/4 branch & a capacity increase...

We will see how is goes when the track season starts again next year.

Thanks for your comments guys. Like you say as long as I am happy that is all that matters, and I am very happy. I am not going to go all the way to Stealth to get an "accurate" bhp figure, when there is an engine tuner who is great on KJet cars 5 miles away.

Chris, I do have a 4 branch, and the next/ony thing I am going to be doing it a flowed head. Then that will be it for engine mods unless this 1.8 goes pop, and only then a 2.0 will be fitted.

    God going on the result!!

Whether or not perfectly accurate you are getting pretty damn close to 100bhp/litre which is mighty impressive for a manky old 1.8 (like mine lol).

Have you had any headwork? Normally I'd have thought you'd need some quite aggressive cams and a well flowed head to get even close but at the end of the day its the gains and how it feels on the road that counts regardless of the numbers.

edit: post above says no headwork yet... duh too early for DT [:$]

I would say Steath's rollers are a bit optimistic too. Look at all the VR6OC cars that have been there, and they all put 200bhp+ out. Something wrong there.

Congrats on the figure too mate - it's only you it really matters to anyway. :)

Been to the No-rice RR day at Stealth this morning.

    9A 16v 2 litre on mk2 16v K-Jet and 42mm inlet manifold

With stock 9A head and KR cams it used to give 174bhp/153lb/ft... (132 ATW)

Today with flowed KR head, Twin exhaust cams, Jetex 2.5" system and early ECU... 176bhp /148lb/ft  (145 ATW)[:s]

Vince 'roughly' checked the timing and it was only 4 degs, so I'm going back Thursday for a set up.

With the lightened flywheel the VAG tool he uses to check the ignition doesn't work and the timing mark wasn't too clear on the crank pulley so as I say, set up on Thursday.

VW-singh got 167bhp from his KR btw [:D]

Since when did 16Vs have 124 bhp standard? Is that why you are always questioning people when they quote their power shown by a rolling road?

Ello! Just got back from the No-Rice shoot out. I got 165.7 Bhp after correction & 167 Bhp before? This was 130.4 Bhp atw. 132.8lb ft torque.

Spec: 1.8 kr 16v with flowed head & 50mm inlet
    Hotgolfed exhaust cam mod.
Ashley four branch (cracked & leaking [:s])
Mk1 8v! Magnex exhaust with two boxes
Fuelling & timing are not optimum.
    Not bad.

Daljsd's mk2 1.8kr 16v made 157.9bhp! This is a standard car!!! The only mod is a 4-branch manifold which is leaking at the spigot joint!

Gary, sure you will get yours running properly soon;).

Looks like the lightened flywheel is well worth it in terms of transmission
    losses.

Sounds like the timing is running pretty retarded on yours gary - im sure with your timing advanced and everything setup properly you'll see much better figures :)

I have always wanted to go to a drag strip, but never bothered, maybe next year I will get round to it, they are all just so far away from me here in the south west.

Do you keep fiddling with yours Gary? I thought you were nudging the 200bhp mark.
