    I'm reliably told the the like of Magnetti Marelli, Bosch et al do make ECUs for aftermarket use but they are mega bucks in comparison to the oft used Motec, DTA, Omex etc

    THAT'S INCORRECT. The BX 16 valve is 160 bhp as is the July 88 - September 92 1.9 405 Mi16.
