GPC supplied sunroof felt top, old bottom
    [IMG]
    Rear lighting
    [IMG]

GPC chin spoiler with 16v brake ducts thanks to Tom IOW.

New bumpers where purchased from Euro. But they fitted like crap so OEM units were hunted down and now...
New old stock bumper with GL chrome strips.
I got to like these strips by accident so the back bumper had to match.

This badge WILL get smaller if you provoke. Car is not a GL!

    Front lighting update.
LED side repeater bulbs and front indicators
    [IMG]

    Number plate ID LEDs
    [IMG]

Still waiting on door moldings from GPC.

Face off with the future modification platform.

Big cubes 6 vs Boosted 4
    [IMG]

    The end for now.

    Whats next for this car.
    Small bodywork adjustments.
Badgeless grill with metal finisher in monza blue
Obtain door mouldings and fit new wheel arches
Re test at AmD to validate new Profec B 2 boost controller and cam tweaks
    Suspension tuning
    Wheels time.

The NEW WOLF R. Santa Pod sprint testing take 1

The car now fully assembled and wearing its mouldings.
    Inlet manifold bling commenced.

With this phase complete, another attempt was made to validate the task of sprinting in Santa Pod. The last time this was attempted the track was rained out and I returned home 20quid short.

This time with the weather threatening to do the same due to a travelling front from coming from the south west, I headed out from London early on Sunday the 17th. This was Peak Performance test and tune day and the track was limited to the first 100 patrons. Being the first to sign on for the day and the first on the grid, the WOLF R as assigned #100.

A pre check to the vehicle showed that there was a fracture on the front engine bracket. Not good for getting the vehicle off the line quickly, but I was there, had unlimited runsand the rain was going to come soon so might as well get used to the track and its freashly laid track bite and establish some baselines. Going to the pod solo meant that my support tools and gear stayed in the car with me while I hooned down the track, a 40kg impediment. Even with these handicaps the car did not let me down and I managed to coax it to a repeatable best of 13.6secs@111mph and 13.6secs@108mph. 60ft was a tame 2.45secs Need to reduce to 2.3secs. This was done my regular Prada 2 tyres and a 1/2 tank of fuel.
This was very encouraging due to the high terminal speeds. So encouraging that I will be back on 2nd of July tentitive based on commitments.
Luckly for me I got 7 runs. When returning to sign in office to pick the slips, the bracket was checked and the fracture was growning well behind the 15AF nut. Before I could risk another run the rain finally came pouring, closing the track. I was happy, and cruised home (but not the other many Type 1 bug and V8 racers, who where camped there and were starting to form a que to race).

    Next steps:
Stiffen rear suspension for sprint to recude rear squat,
Remove tools, gear spare and speak shelf,
Make robust, engine brackets and mounts Update where essential.
Reposition clutch switch and calibrate launch control and flat shift settings. Test and evaluate on next outing

The car will have no enhancements to the engine as it is working fine after 9,000 hard devleopment miles.

    Target 12.9secs@110 mph 330ft = 92mph. 2.3 60ft
    Ideal Target 12.5secs@113mph.

Stay tuned. Here are some highlights

The innocent WOLF R w/ABF thats huffed. Went home that evening and returned fuel economy of around 33mpg on the cruise.

I will get the timeslip of the the best ETs up a bit later.

I may just consider that as many see that name in the reg plate. You are about the 7th person to notice.

    Very Close. Very Close.

Gtech reported 13.7@112mph for the 13.6@111 run and 13.6@110 for the 13.6@108mph run. Average 60ft 2.5-2.7 secs verses santa pod 2.45. Good lil tool that.

So time ago when I was checking the car on the first boost controller, Gtech measured the thing with 13.1@110mph pass. and 2.3 60ft. Since then top end optimisation, with profec B2 and overall WOT improvements made.

Nope the car was picked up from the crusher with those original fitted plates. Never really saw the
"4FRO" bit until being suggested recently.

Very impressive! I was considering taking my mk2 last weekend but decided against it due to the iffy looking weather, probably a good thing as i'd have been a bit embarassed by the wolf

I'm hoping to get to the next RWYB day so if you're there i'll come and introduce myself (and have a bit of a nosy!)

On the calender they gave me ( I left it 4000miles in the UK), the next VW RWYB is on the 2nd of July.

Think GTI Festival is on the 5th July, i'll probably get down before that to one of the normal RWYB days, i only got 4 runs at Spring Fest but managed 11 runs by 2pm when i went a couple of weeks later on a normal RWYB day, cheaper too!

Plus if you go to 4 RWYB days you get the 5th track sign-on free, thats my ambition for this year (it was originally to break into the 14's but i managed that too early on, so i need a new one )
