vagcom port is behind a panel next to the ashtray, it slides across once the ashtray is removed :)

Cool i'll get that out tonight...

I read a post that you had put up while ago saying that using the MK3 fuel pump was better, and i think fuel lines, is this correct ?. I want to strip everything i can use off the car i can to make this a good conversion.

Also i have taken out the clocks and the 2 into 1 plug loom, is this what i need to make them work.

sorry I know im asking alot of questions but want things to be right...

One final thing when i have engine and your new loom in place and i think ive completed the conversion any chance I could ask you to come over to Woking to have a look over things, I'll be happy to pay for your time and even pick you up and drop you off if needed.

    Thanks loads for the help.

yeah the tank, lines, pump and filter carrier from a mk3 are a good plan, they're newer, easier to find and pump sits safely in tank so doesn't corrode like the mk2 one does.

the clocks you also need the wire from D/8 to E/2, on the mk3 the D/8 wire runs to a jumper block above the fusebox, then another wire runs from there to E/2. this also powers up the immobiliser box, you should have the wire I'm on about attached to the green plug there. or just splice any old ign live feed to the E/2 pin, whatever is easier :)

I'd use the mK2 clocks if it was me though ;)

yeah i could take a look at it when its done if you like :)

Your a star Mate, would feel alot better knowing that someone has looked over it, as this is my first (but prob wont be my last) enging conversion.

You dont need any bits froma mk3 do you... for someone that given so much advise least i can offer is some free parts ??
