Have been looking at TSR heads for peace of mind but seem . Is gasflowing/port polish a worth while option if keeping a standard cam?

TSR = C&R = Man in Shed Heads. See the thread in the paid members' section for details. A ported head will work fine with a standard cam, but even better with a lumpier one.

If you're using the old cam, just clean your tappets out (see the TSC thread on how to do it).

There's another option... 2.0 8v bottom end, to go with your flowed head.

Yeah had read about that. Decided against TSR in the end due to . Also did look into Man in the shed heads.

Finally have come to a decision though and am bolting a refurbed head on (cheers MarcN). Not ideal but will get the car back on the road and I can upgrade the bottom end at a later date.

    Thanks for all help.
