its back on ebay. http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/VW-Corrado-1-8t-20v-20-valve-turbo-vr6 -g60-golf-250bhp_W0QQitemZ4595960748QQcategoryZ9873QQssPageN ameZWDVWQQrdZ1QQcmdZViewItem Edited by: Jon P
I seen that advertised in barry and he wanted 7000 for it. Don't get me wrong it looks nice and has a 20v turbo but thats just stupid money. You could pick up a rado for 1500 and do a transplant. But then saying that all the hardworks done!! I heard it drive past and the turbo sounds awesome!!
not everyone can do engine conversions themselves though. plus a Corrado in good condition for 1500? a bad one maybe.
you'd get a nice 16v rado for 1500. a nice G60 for 2000 and a nice VR for 2500. they've dropped loads in price!!
id happily pay 5 for it and id have no probs with the history of the conversion(i.e. amy n co) ect. Edited by: Seraph
are you sure? I've been looking recently, and there are cars at that price but I wouldnt call them "nice" eg the vr6s all have problems that couldnt be ignored
Am I missing something here? It seems there is some history to this that I know nothing about. If its sensitive by all means PM the answer.
Amy sold the car to the current owner on ebay for 5k. It was advertised on E38 and Elite1k saying Stealth did all the work. People asked for proof of Stealth doing the work and he posted invoices with Amys full address and phone number on, none of which indicated Stealth carrying out the work. We all know that Amy carried out the conversion in her Barn over a period of time and head Stealth carry out minimal work to include mapping the DTA. Since then the spec hasnt really changed, and he is asking 6500 for it. In a nutshell.
why would it upset her?? she sold a car for a given price (maybe less than she expected) and someones making an earner. we've all done that at some point haven't we?? or am i missing something??
Not upset her, but she got slated by the current owner for having us all attack him in our "little gang". She didnt instigate anything, she just wanted the facts set straight.
It's very rare to "make" money on any car as a private sale when you've done a lot of work to it as anyone with any common sense knows. Asking 1700 on top of a car when the world knows how much you paid for it is imho plain greed and it'll never sell. If he has problems with people talking about what is a public auction then tough.
