Okidoke, bit of an update. So what was a 5 door 1.6 Audi A3 in silver has turned out to be a 3 door 1.8T A3 in black! There's a problem though, when the gf told me about the car she said it had some scratches and a few dinks, nothing major I though and then she took some pics when she got her first look at it.. She wants 2k for it, it has 70k miles on it and apparently a fsh. I can't say she's looked after it particularly well (understatement or what) but 2k is still cheap.. Would it be worth buying to repair? Let me know what you lot think, cheers.
that'll be Sheryl, with an S right, that looks a fair bit of damage, but is cheap. tbh, as matt says, as long as theres definately no mechanical damage, and she can afford to replace the body panels with damage, then i dont see why not get it. tbh, i wouldnt, mine has the odd bit of damaged bodyparts since ive had it and ive never sorted it, but its nothing that severe. its a little concerning though that she thought it were silver 5 door and a smaller engine size?? ooh, im thinking of stuff she could do to it already best get mine sorted first though before advising other people
i dont think she is quite like you though Sheryl bodywork damage give it character. tbh, there are few cars as cheap/compact as that that will be as well rounded in terms of fun/live-with-ability. i doubt she is after raw tear your eyeballs out fun, so itll prolly work well for her
oohhhh, i dunno, when i was speaking to her at lakeside the other week she semed pretty keen for power!! aye, as long as she can live with the damage or fix it then fine, i personally only wouldnt buy it as i'd be too worried about power than fixing the cosmetic damage. i neeeeed power, i WILL have power
Lmao, yeah she's already on about remaps and how much faster it will be than my golf! I've spied a pretty set of carbon fibre wings with shark gill-esque vents on the bay.. I think her words were 'As long as it's faster than your car and has a dump valve, I'll be happy' Can't have that can I!
lol sounds like trouble. we'll have to sit her and sheryl in corner and get them speaking haha sheryl is going down the suspension and brakes route, then breathing mods, maybe intercooling then remap to suit then she is going to strip it after that, i recon its time for gt28 upgrade
gt28 is a turbo, damage looks horrific, bumper, rear quarter and 2 wings, panels and spraying can't be cheap, plus 2k for the car, you can't be saving that much than buying a decent one surely?
Yeah it looks pretty bad. Her dad has said that he'll insure it and get the insurance to repair it as he doesn't care about his ncb so it may eb able to get done for free, which would be nice. She's also on about some smoothing.. lol
i'm getting round to de badging mine. i was gonna do it the weekend just gone, but im hating my car right now so neglecting it.
