I wondered were they mounted the alternator and power steering pump.

4 teeth on the flywheel only - for a very special engine - makes me think that there is actually very little advantage of crank-triggered timing compared with dizzy-triggered timing - clearly 60 teeth is not required for performance at least

    Cracking - cheers for that.

I'm struggling to find much BTCC in-car anywhere.

Just these promo vids which... well, they're a bit PR & chat.

Great find - definitely of the same stock as the BTCC / STW cars.

Murray Walker is a commentating legend

Another engine block pic - the best one so far I think, showing how close the 85mm bores are together. Fag paper job!

What are these 'threads' poking out the front of each cylinder? Sensors ....?

This is a late-spec bottom end, according to HPR, with 2 squish zones.

    Are they recognisable as them?

Whereabouts are knock sensor(s) usually fitted on a block?

That's more my vague recollection. I must have seen one at some point somewhere.

I guess it's all frequency related, so they can pick knock up further down, but perhaps with a great precision, sat just opposite where the explosion occurs?

Nice find on the Audi 80 link there.

Just to pull these vids out of it:
