My neighbour keeps popping around (the house is up for sale) with an Audi TT Quattro and the badge he has on the back is W12.... now as far as i knew they never came with these engines... I only knew it was the 1.8t 150,180,225 and the 3.2 (R32 engine) Has someone just been silly badges on?? Rich
No, they came with the W12. Didnt you know? (They also never came with the 150bhp engine, 180, 225 and 3.2 only)
f**k me, i never knew that... so thats two 3.2's bolted togther then basically? twin V6's? Whats the power they are putting out etc?/
No, i was joking funky. Youd need major bulkhead removal to fit an engine that was designed for the passat, pheaton, touareg and nardo.
im confused......oh well that picture have those badges photoshoped on??? LOL, i didn't think there was a w12 one!!!
There isnt. Will someone think of the kittens!! [:^(] As i said in my first reply funky, the 180, 225 and 3.2 only!!!! Well, as standard. MTM did the twin 1.8T engined version.
ooo twin engined... im gonna rip the badge off the neighbours car , sad fatherless child with his T484TEA number plate and his fake W12 badge!!!! Grrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrrr thanks luke and other peeps!
the gearbox for the W12 is about the same size as the engine, it's mahoosive i'm sure you could cram it all in a TT, 800 gallons probably will but you'd have to sit on the roof to drive it
They did do a FWD only 150bhp roadster, probably the most hairdresser, haridresser's car ever. More recently they've slightly changed the bhp of all the models by 3 or 4 bhp up and down and i've no idea why. w12 eh? wonder where he soured the engine for his transplant? A8, Phaeton, Bently GT? you can picutre it now "OK Ivor you slap some Vaseline on the sides of that lump, and I'll take a run up"
wasn't this the one that caused all the problems of them getting a recall for the little spoiler on the back?
Nah, that was all the early one's About two years ago they started selling a load of cheaper types to use up some of the MK4 golf platforms they use to make 'em. 150bhp fwd roadster and 180bhp fwd coupe, they've sold them for years in Europe but we only got the posh ones
i knew they made the cheaper ones to shift stock, just wondered what the power was of the lesser ones that had all the problems.
Yup they made a 150 bhp version and it was only fwd. It wasn't a long behind the 180 bhp in terms of performance! Audi had to revise the rear suspension setup to stop the back end from letting go at high speed on the early models. I recon the spoiler was merely something for the customer to feel better about They are now upping the power on all the models to shift the remaining stock, because the current model will be discontinued in the very near future.
