Hi, got a stage 2 remap, a 3" downpipe and decat, big filter, a n75j valve and a forge oo7p dv, Fitted a boost valve and it's readin 30 hg on idle and 15 psi wot, when i first had the parts listed above on it went great for around a week, It then started to loose power so i fitted new cct gaskets n rocker cover gasket and a new oil breather pipe due to these giving me a boost leak. Car is still not going rite any ideas ?
From the Ross tech site then you need to buy a cable. Essential for any car unless you don't mind guessing or just throwing money at it
15 psi or just over 1 bar is not alot for a stage 2 map! What car is it? mk4 golf? do you still have the smic? As said,VAG-COM or a controler that can read measuring blocks & adaptions is a must on these engines as so much can throw the ecu out of sync.
It's an a3 mate with the standard ic, just removed the fog light and put mesh in the existing hole for extra flow for the time being, also when it hits around 2500 to 3000 rpm it sometimes gives a violent judder. Bloody annoying as it was going great at first
vag cable How about this one:- http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/USB-VAG-O...iagnostic_Tools_Equipment&hash=item43aafb94c9 to go with:- http://www.ross-tech.com/vcds/download/current.html Any advice welcome
N249 Going to do the n249 bypass tomorrow, will keep folks updated ? Also a friend has a elm 327 interface, is it possible to use this with the lite version software as im assuming the "3rd party" means it would work with any interface, tryed the normal one with no avail with the 327 Thanks again guys
Not sure what the elm thing is but can't see any issues with the bypass. After wards you're left using mechanical components rather than the ecu controlling it making the car more predictabld
It's the same thing like does the same job as the cable I bought to use with vag com, am I rite in saying that is what 3rd party means ? The elm 327 worked on a clio and a corsa he said.
n249 bypass Just done the n249 bypass and what a difference and really easy to do Car is still not 100% but going in the correct direction i guess
Dtc Dtc came up p0103 which is the maf, usually only does this if there is a big filter on it, running like it has no turbo now, should I try clean maf and fit original airbox ?
p0103 Mass Air Flow (MAF) Circuit High Input i cant see how a filter would cause that. if you beleive it to be the filter, then revert back to the airbox, but i know lots of people with cone filters on an aum without that code. got a known good maf you can try? how old is your current maf?
I think it's the filter as it only started coming on since the filter was fitted, it's possibly reading too much airflow or over heating the elements etc causing the light to come on, the previous owner had fitted one around a year or two ago, thanks for the help
Up-date Removed air flow meter and air intake sensor and throttle body then cleaned with carb clean, Removed cone filter a soaked with carb clean till i figure out whether its a good idea to put it back on, Put it all together and wehay, goes just like it did when i got the remap maybe just abit slower, extremely happy with that. Definately down to the air intake sensor as it was soaked in oil Still going to scan with vag-com as i think there is a vac and boost leak so will keep folks updated Where other than the fpr can i connect my boost gauge back up as since the n249 bypass i am getting turbo chatter, i have also tried connecting it at the dv which didnt work also
Video of problem before hand Here's a video before sensors were cleaned and before the n249 bypass, will upload another of what it's like now when I find out where to tap boost gauge into http://m.youtube.com/index?desktop_uri=/&gl=GB#/watch?v=XHVgM489NMM
