Nice site to have a look at for ideas is www.sounddomain.com lotts of great installs form mild to wild !!
i never meant it in a bad way u fecking idiot i meant there no point copying someone elses as it looks better being original idea
because a car doesn't possess the acoustic qualities to sound good. it's a moving object that flexes and bends, has a harsh construction for sound and i think car stereos are a big bag of toss
^ ^ ^ same really, do you have partys in ya car and get people dancing in it? Edited by: Jimmy Denton
acctually, the car enviroment is a perfect enviroment acoustically . the volume of air with in a car is comparably very small in comparision to a room, there for a good quality sound can be achieved, so long as its done well, tim
Tim, Sound quality has nothing yo do with the size of space. Cars are acoustically sh*t because of things such as seats getting in the way of the sound waves, and sound reflections off of windows, pillars etc. Hence why placing 6x9 on th rear shelf is b0ll0x as the sound goes straight to the rear screen and then comes forward and results in delay and a basically w*** sound. Yes it may be loud and crisp (yeah right) but acoustically it is crap.
yes i do, i meant that a sterio of a reasonably low power can be made to be fairly loud, due to the small about of space. tim
Volume is different to sound quality.. also dBa amd dBspl are very different measurment.. as is dBv.. as i'm sure you know. I'm also confident that you realise that the sound quality is altered much more by room acoustics than dBa or dBspl.. for example, doubling the thickness of a concrete wall will only reduce the dB level the other side by about 2dB. Wheras a small amount of material/object can alter the sound quality immensley. You also have to take into account the vast amount of refractions in a car, aswell as absorption factors of the many materials. So suggesting a small space such as a car is good for a stereo setup is wildly in-accurate.. especially when the only reasoning for this is that 'it's a small space!!'
