Sounds god Brookster, which oil pump do the N/A FSI engines use?

    Any joy with pistons yet?

Looks like could be a few FSI head based engines coming through this year.

Any cavitations problems with OE oilpumps and 8000+rpm?

I have a question hopefully someone can reply i have starting to mock up my tall block 2003 TDI bottom end with a 2.0 TFSI crank and a N/A FSI head the problem is the diesel internal water pump is much smaller the part that goes into the block as well as the sprocket gear is smaller to it can not be used as is because the toothed cam belt for the diesel and water pump has a larger pitch between the teeth is there some other pump people use as the FSI water pump will not go in the TDI block?

Some engines have been run close to 10.000 rpm with the OE oilpump...

Electric water pump from Davies Craig?
I have been using them for years on the race car and am a bit of a fan

    Bumpimg up the thread.

I have been running an ABF based engine in rallycross for some time now but it has been getting more and more difficult sourcing good heads. Not that I swap heads often but any abf head I find, if any at all, is in poor condition and has had the living sh*t skimmed off of it.

I have been reading up a lot on the forum about FSI heads and am considering switching to one based on the port design advantages. I can easily source fsi/tfsi heads for cheap but from what I underatand pistons are the problem. The stock pistons even at 11,5:1cr will not work with port injection, correct? Has any one tried running with them with port injection or are custom pistons a must?
