I would like to thank and recommend C&R enterprises for their professionalism. I had a new clutch and inspection and I am very pleased with the results.
It is worth the journey.

I ordered some armour door plates yesterday afternoon (fri) & they arrived this morning (sat) so well done for a speedy service.

& yes they fitted a treat [:D] .

One thing mind does anyone know the part no for the rubber cover that sits in-between the handle & the door at it's smallest end (opposite to lock) as i noticed mine was split?

thanx mike

how did you find their pricing? im genuinely interested to know if they have a reputation for "charging over the odds"

they're my nearest vw specialist and ive been going there for a couple of years now. only for servicing and minor stuff tbh, but they recognise my name when i call them...

they wanted a 100 for a gearbox oil change in my valver and a dose of slick50!!! they stiffed me for a whole hours labour and wondered why i looked miffed when they gave me the bill. not amused [:x]

i only dropped in for a quick saturday morning job - they *so* didnt need to run it for half an hour and charge me for the privilege ...i was already primed to go for a long drive after putting the slick50 in [:x]

..sorry, rant over [:$]

One bloke tried to sell me a competition clutch for 600 when all I was after was a power clutch. Bye Bye C&R - Hello GSF.

Do I really come over as being a *un* in The Golf+? I am sorry if I do but its usually after midnight when I am writing the (last month there were eighty-four of them) replies that I get paid f*ck all todo. Ihave done thisfeature for over five years becauseI like trying tohelp people fix their own cars without having to spend the money on labour. When I first started out, no one would help me and I swore that when I had the opportunity to help people, I would. If you don't like what I write, then turnthe page and read something else. If dohc would like to get in contact with me, I can explain why the gearbox oil change cost what it did and if a mistake has been made, I will deal with it. Thank you Laydon and fthaimike for the compliments, at least I havent p***** everyone off! GSF do not sell the Sachs Power clutch and the supplies of these from Sachs <?:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />UK have been a problem for years, hence we try and recommend people fit one expensive clutch to a performance engine, rather than four cheap ones. Its bloody annoying when you spend the money having a bottom end carefully balanced only for the clutch to disintegrate after a few thousand miles, meaning the new pressure plate (and possibly flywheel) are then not in perfect balance. i have a mate who uses them all the time, and the impression i get from him and most others is that, yes their expensive but you get exactly what you pay for tbh, which is a quolity job. plus the dude who does the 'brain' thing in the golf mag knows his sht and looks oddly like my uni lecturer[:s]

There were two chaps on here last week with a problem, one with a Golf 4 running problem and the other with a Jetex exhaust that had failed, I can't find them now as their posts have disappeared. Can anyone, or themselves, tell me who they were and get in touch with me by PM so I can look into sorting them out and putting things right, thanks if you can help.<?:namespace prefix = o ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:office" />

I forgot about starting this thread, since then I've had a full G60 brake setup fitted by C&R and it's made such a difference to my car [:D] As for expensive I think you get what you pay for, some people on this forum seem to think if any job costs more than 10 you have been ripped off[:s] I will be using them again

I think moaning about quality of work and customer service is one thing, moaning about the price is another.

The public for years have been under paying for vehicle repairs, every bloke thinks they are genetically born with ability to fix cars, well they're not.

If you want a quality, reliable job then get your purse out.

If the washing machine packs up and the repair guy says it's 50 plus 25 call out no one questions it.

When the TV repair guy says the 'internal blowjeep valve' has gone, no one pushes him out the way and dives in themselves, screwdriver in hand.

It's worth remembering that no one puts their family in a washing machine and does 70mph on the motorway in it, maybe people should rethink the real cost of cheap vehicle repairs.

Sorry, rant over.
