Got some new clocks for my GTI.

Is there any easy way to change the mileage display so they show the true mileage of the car?

You risk breaking the clocks doing that and none of the functions ever working again. At least, that would be the case if i touched them!

Im quite dextrous ill have you know. My fingers are short, but they arent fat and dumpy like yours! ;) j/k

You just hear horror stories of people changing their dials and various other parts for the clocks to never work when they are reassembled! :p

The mk2 dials are SO simple, you'd have to be a right thick tune to break them

What about Mk3's? my digital clocks about 90K over. what can I use on them? anyone know whay pulse signal they need? is it a case of hooking them up to a frequency generator?

The Mk2 dials are easy to clock..... you just need to slide the wee pin that holds the gray gears over a bit, so the ratchet no longer holds the numbers in place (been a long time since I've done it, but I think that's the one!) - then twiddle the numbers to show the true mileage......

One careful lady owner, never raced or rallied ;)

Anybody who buys a car the age of a Mark II and believes the mileage is deluding themselves.

Unless like me you have all previous MOT certificates to back up the mileage.

So, does putting a drill on the speedo cable work without f**king the clocks, because I don't really want to take 'em apart.
