My mate has a 2litre 16v Corrado which he reckons will nail my golf gti mk2 8v!

Ive looked at the spec and mine is 1.5 secs quicker to 60 and the cars both have the same bhp/ton ratio!

    Any thoughts?

Yes you'd beat him easily I reckon. The 1.8 is actually quicker than the 2.0.

Only quick 'rado's are the G60 (once tuned - they're pants as standard IMO) and the VR6.

rrado`s are heavy,, although a well tuned G60,,or a std Vr6 is a pretty quick car even by modern terms,,,,
my G60 will outdrag a Vr6 and i havent even fitted my big valve head yet,,, ;)

i reckon it will be v.close.

only one way to find out, find a nice busy 30 zone outside a school around 3:15pm and race. Make sure you post the results up here for true hero status.

seriously-there really is only one way to sort it, just keep it safe [8D]

The mk2 would win easy from 0-60 standing start, I know I have tried it but not outside a school ;) . But if it was from 70 in 5th the corrado would nail it.

I'd say that was pretty obvious but yeah I guess it's likely that they are gonna race from 70mph.

even though the golf is an 8v the corrado weighs significantly more and 2.0 corrados are only 116-117 bhp in 2.0 form.

    "No, 2.0 16v Corrado's are dogsh*t."!

    How-s that then? [:s]

I admit when standard they seem slow even tho they arn't, but with a kr cam its a different story

My C keeps up with more powerfull mk3-s like vr-s without a problem ;)

Bronze Mk1 Cab - your cab is so heavy though? Dont you have trouble against Mk2 8valves?

My Mk2 8v is always so much quicker than my Mk1 Cab what ever engines I seem to swap between them.

Have only driven one Corrado, I know there could have been something wrong with, but it was disappointing and friend who has driven a few suggests they all are? I'd gone to buy it from a local garage butspent more to buy the VR6 Golf beside it instead!

    Corrado 2.0 16v

    Top speed (mph)126
    0-60 mph (sec)10.2

    ....Equals....

    See above stats...

You must have an amazing KR Cam mate

Besides, let me modify my VR and then we'll see what happens, fair yes? [:D]

Those figures mean nothing as even standard C-s would get better results

My C is producing only 158bhp and i have managed to do 16.5sec qtr mile and 8.1sec 0-60 at inters so surely standard 136bhp want be that bad [:s]

besides that, handling and looks make up for it :)

Drove few standard mk3 vr6-s and i can confidently say a proper rolly polly, slow bag of dog poo!

    And those looks [xx(]

To come back to the original topic i think there would be little between mk2 8v and a 2.0l 16v rado
