I mean the people who influenced most of the "rock" bands you hear now.....

    Neil Young - invented Grunge.....
    Iggy Pop - invented Punk.....
The Band - invented the whole "indie"scene by deliberately being totally different from the Hendrix/Stones vibe that was around at the time.....

    Hmm? Any listeners?

Then you are too young or blinkered to appreciate it.... how many "grungy" bands do you know of nowadays that don't cite Neil Young as one of their biggest influences? Ever heard the album "Weld", and it's sidekick "Arc", done with Sonic Youth?
How many "Punky" bands who think Iggy Pop was shit?

    James Brown

    Parliament/Funkadelic

    Kraftwerk

...to name but a few that I've had on today [:D]

Edit: None of those are influencers of Rock, but rock's crap anyway

A bit like saying the Mk1 sucks because you don't like Mk3's.
Look into the roots of the music you like - you might just find something you like more.........

    It's just a natural progression.

There's loads more, much better music around these days. Too much to choose from in fact.

The mk1 DOES suck. The only thing it's got going for it is it's retro looks. The rest of it is complete horse sh*t.

Bit of Black Flag and Husker Du (early stuff) might also be up your street.
Lee Scratch Perry played in Manchester a few weeks ago. Good gig.

His latest stuff sucks the fat cock, yes. But the man invented Punk, and was the definition of Punk well before any other "cut yourself in the mosh pit" bands came along.
If you download the video of him playing in France, he's singing "I wanna be your dog" to a pretty girl who deosn't realise that the song is about a girl who gets licked out by her dog..... she thinks it's really romantic......

Depends on what you like. I prefer the Mk1 to the Mk3, you like the Mk3. I like Iggy Pop, you don't.....
