hi ppl i rescently found a mk1 on front of a elderly womens house. i asked her if she was sellin it. she said it belonged to her husband and that his past away now she wants to get rid of it .. it has 49000 miles on the clock with full history, it is in mint condition and has been on the garage for the past 11 years. its a grey colour, how much is it worth ???

you should feel bad mate! not been funny, but theres getting a cheeky bargain and theres ripping an old lady off whos just lost her husband. not a decent thing to do atall in my opinion. with that mileage and if its as mint as you say then you could have given her a grand and still made 4x's your money. and before anyone says i'm only jelous. yes i'd love to find a car like that and get it for a steal of a price, but these circumstances seem a bit unfair. imagine it was your mother or gran. her husband probably cherished the car. just my 2pence worth, enjoy your bargain
Is it silver, not grey? Mk1 GTIs were available in Diamond Silver Metallic and a handful were in Atlas Grey. the grey ones would be very desirable, silver less so.
not bieng funny but i did ask her what she wanted for it ..she said it was painfull to see her husbands pride and joy.. she did say take it for free because she was planning to scrap it. so me bieng generous gave her a nice 50 note.....is that not fair ? IM BIGGINING TO FEEEEEEL GUILTY NOWWWWWWWWW... EVRY 1 MAKING COMMENTS ON HOW I RIPPED HER OFFFF...ill go buy her a box of hienz baked beans...

50 quid??, imagine if it was your gran. how would you feel? you've taken advantage of the situation and your conscience is telling u that(i hope). go back to her and explain that the car is worth more and you couldn't take advantage. it will make her feel better and you feel better. if not stick it in an envelope and post it through her letterbox. sometimes it is best for you not to gain at others expense. we reap what we sow and all that
