got the sportline set up on 40’s

    took my car to tommy's (in abercynon) on sat,

    the result is 164bhp@6.8k rpm

    the car isnt very smooth but its about 90% there, im off back up there tonight for mare playing but i can see a set of 45's goin on next year ;)

    what was the power figure before you gotn the twin 40's?

    Thats good power figure you have got.... should be even more impressive with the 45's :p :p

    1.8 16v
    Twin 40's (weber)
    Flowed Head and oettinger inlet cam

    i thought so, sit still isnt spot on, it feels like its holding back a wee bit.

    i dont think ill get much more power out of her tho on 40's

    i gto 165 from 45's
    totally standard but home flowed head

    now i got a 4 branch and piper cams so not sure what ill get

    bought a winter car now so i wont be getting it setup till next season now

    John Jones did my head and cam (i got this second hand)
    i 4got to add the 4 branch but my system is small 1 3/4 pipe to keep the standard look.
    Im off back up the rollers tonight cos there is a small miss.

    sounds lovely tho LOL

    that's a good figure Velly, I'm gonna start building the 1.9 soon so hope to have it running and set up on 40's in about 4 weeks!!

    Velly, alot of the extra gains to be had with carbs and throttle bodies is by tuning the exhaust and inlet track length, easy way to change the length is by changing the trumpet length of the carbs.

    It can make a HUGE difference but it's a bit of work, lots of time on the rollers to..

    hi velly its richard in swansea with the white oettinger really pleased your car is goin well like to see it sometime mayb me n steve will pop up to one of your meets the oettinger was tuned by grant woodhatch from grant motor sport last weekend we have change the plugs and leads and adjusted the fueling and gained an extra 15 brake see you soon rich.

    at the moment there isnt much room to change the trumpets cos im still running a 16v rad with is way too big and gets in the way.

    I will wait till i get 45 then i'll start playing with the exhaust,i just want the car to run a bit smoother and i'll be happy.

    Wot power did you get at grants rich?

    I cant wait to c the 1.9 on 40's raj,we'll av to get it on down at pod in jan, settle the 8v v's 16v thing ;)


    Anyway, tommy fiffed bigger jets to her last night, took it for a blast (with AxlFoley), still sounds like its choking up at high revs in top gear.
    It still goes well tho, Doesnt it mark? :p
