help! stud extraction from head

    that exact stud was the reason why my car is now a 2l.
    same problem as you, took to a garage who tried to drill it and mad a complete mess of it and butchered my head, so the head had to come off and while the top end was out the bottom end seemed a good idea too.
    how did he drill it out out of interest?

    A quid says he used a drill ;) :lol:

    I remember watching my old man drilling out a snapped stud, he drilled straight into with a small drill, then went up a size every time until the stud was so thin and crumbly in the head he just picked it out with a small screwdriver. One stud gone, and original threads left all new and shiney :)

    yup thats how we got a buggered zuast manifold stud out :)
