How quick is quick? Most chipped Ibiza owners reckon they can give a Boxster S a run for it's money in a straight line.
Best bet is an Audi S4 with 4WD chipped and Milltek'd to 320....then RS4 it to 480-500bhp with atmo heads Motec upgraded turbo's etc With that much power you need traction...4wd will cope easier everyday Ianb
I might be missing the point here but..if you want make the MK4 faster make it lighter by removing stuff you don't need
MK4 carries with it MK4 weight. Ibiza does'nt (relatively) so has an advantage in its power goes further. 4WD is fine for standing starts, wet etc... On track, in dry... FWD shows a clean pair of heals to most things.
Bill i went for a ride in your old Mk4 last thursday what a beast 155mph comes up like a flash , Matt said it should or will do 170mph, you can get both the needles facing down
170mph... well it might.. Did 166mph on std wheels with PVW in their hall of fame many moons ago. FMIC should sort heatsoak related issues it has previously... as will Aquamist Not been able to get >6900rpm in 6th @ Brunters when I had it but it did'nt have FMIC on it then. Golfy is faster than my ibiza top end given my new g'box has slowed mine down to sub 160mph. (gear limited) Private roads of course Edited by: badger-bill
Bil, Your ibiza is just mental It had all the cossie boys just dumb struck!!!! Now just got golf+ mag and happy again!!!! Aprrox 3000 = approx 330 bhp, now that should shift on the move And compared to cossies and bmw's parts are so cheap! Nick b
