How likely are you to get stopped just for altering the spacing of a plate slighty? i.e. not changing the characters with dots and sh1t like that, just moving a letter over so the gap is in a different place.

    For instance, may mate has

    G6 OPM

    but spaces it

    G60 PM

It's a G60, his initals are PM. Quite a cool plate I think.

He seems to get away with it, do you?

Paul McCleery's plate is quite subtle so he gets away with it, I think it's once you start adding more than one space and trying to change the letters and using those black screw caps to alter things, that's when they give you a hard time.

It's also what mood the coppers are in at the time. I used to run small letter plates on my car, ran them for years and one day I get a copper who decided to be extra anal and have me replace then, get a stamp from a local MOT centre to say that the plates are now legal and produce it along with my docs to the local cop shop.

I've started using them again recently though! :p

:) I think if you wear a burberry cap and stone island jacket with a number plate like FUK 1T your in trouble but if you keep it "close" to legal your be fine. The problem will be when you get pulled for speeding the A-Hole coppers have another reason to fine.

Hehe, so you think i'll be fairly safe in a stock looking corrado VR, with no stereo and no cap?

hmm, 25, still drives a saxo and wears a suit even though he works for a poxy frech car manufacturer?? sounds like a mincer to me. 60 fine, 3 points.

i reckon its totally dependent on where you live, and what you drive.

loads of people have plates like that here, but most drive mercs and stuff. a mate has L14M DP on his S3 and has no probs...but i bet if you put one on a nova you'd get in trouble the first time you drive it.
