  12. The police probably wont care but if your pulled over something else, the police probably slap another fine on you.

As I work in the Dept in DVLA that sells those personalised regs, we can, as sales staff refuse to sell you a number if you blatently tell us your gonna mispace it, never done it myself, but we are told that in training, and I think that number is then removed from sale, where no one can buy that number ever. We dont lose money for doing it either. Just say i wont do that and we dont give a toss to be honest.

Never got pulled all the time i had H9 TVW as H9T VW.

If all goes to plan that plate should be gettign re-incarnated on something later this year.... ;)

Also never got pulled for R 88 SDN - R88SDN - (robson) on the golf.

(Always kept the legal ones in the car, just in case...)

I have L 8 WVR and if messed about a little L8W VR (LOW VR)

I ran it like this for a few months and no problems untill I got a bit cheeky and put a screw through the centre of the 8 to make it look more like an O. Got pulled and massive b*llocking and a thorough inspection of my car. They gave me a vehicle defect form even though I change them back in front of them so had the hassle of getting it to the MOT place and 7 day producer to deal with too.
I think you can get away with some spacing mods, but definately NOT changing/altering the letters/numbers, but again all depends on the coppers at the time. [:s]
