I would say rig up some inserts and mock up to see clearance etc with EV1 or EV6 injectors and 1.8T rails. The pictures shown from vwvortex suggests it is feasable. Peharps get an old ABF fuel rail and see how this suggestion will work with either EV1 or EV6 injectors and 1.8T rail. The injector seal must be tight else you will prompt rough engine running when full warmed up. This is not useful when you have other unknowns contributing to poor engine performance.
