mine is exactly 100k.... and i mean exactly!!!

When I moved it from my garage in southampton to Kingston on a flat bed it had 99,999 on the clock... when I drove off the flatbed onto my drive it clicked to 100,000..... where it has stayed for the last 6 months.... don't know why it amuses me but it does lol

i was going to sell it a while back, but i was worried people would think it was clocked, would seem weird exactly on 100k I think.....

MOT is happening end of March, insurance is already swapped over from girlfriends Fiesta which I am sorting this weekend to sell. Then she can use the golf for a bit before I rip it to bits....

nah not really... have been scratching my head with the pi**ing idling problem for a while and am waiting till I have fixed it before I do a cambelt change then the fun will start....

have zimmerman discs for the front ready to go on, mintex extreme pads, standard rear discs and pads, ABS sensor, then going to ebay the interior to help pay towards some new seats...

I'd forget the engine and just get the car you like the look of best. Your probably going to be stuck in a traffic jam anyway.

16v miles better than 8v as an all rounder, some people say 8v for city driving and VR6 for motorway. Personally I say 16v as I have one, its miles better performance wise than any 8v's, a bit better than a mk4 1.8T and on par with VR6's, raced a few VR's inc corrado and even though i wasnt flying past, they couldnt shake me off.

    Very true Ian.

A 16v is no faster than an 8v or 12v for that matter while sat in traffic :p

the 16v has bigger brakes which will stop you quicker should you be hurtling towards standing cars in a traffic jam :)
