I think a remapped mk5 GTi will be awesome...can imagine 240BHP & its obvious handling ability will leave all but the very best mk1s & mk2s behind on the track.. The drive has been raved about, so all it needs is a tad more grunt to offset its kerbweight!!
as much of a VW fan as I am and as nice as the new gti sounds, i think Id still rather have a honda civic type r
250bhp and 260lb ft after a remap is mighty impressive. And all those folks that were saying it wouldnt respond well to remapping a while back eh??? Gonna have to start saving those pennies for sure now!!
Theres always an empahsise the power output and focus on it like nothing else matters? The weight of the car is so relevant when talkin about power cos theyre on either end of a see saw. Not only that, what about the handling ect?not much use if you can only drive quick on the straights..
Im a fan, didnt think i would be, but its a great car, much better looking than a civic type r also, i want to testdrive one, see how they are for real, if nothing else, im sure most people agree that vw have started goint back in the right direction with this one, taz
Mk2 16v was 16,995 14 years ago. The Mk5 GTI is still not expensive, when compared with their older models, as VWs have always been dearer than most the competition.
Just bought my 2007 GTI MkV in Black. Even if my Acura CL had a 70HP edge, this thing is just as fast, and more fun to drive because you don't have to wait for the vtech to kick in. Love it and get 28 MPG with my lead foot...
