don't go anywhere near them with autosol. use a fine liquid polish, like brasso.

has anyone actually used wheel wax on their bare polished wheels? I was thinking of giving it a try but would be interested in other peoples experiences.

Lad at work was talking to the blokes that clean the cars at the dealer and they mentioned cola!!!

    Weird!!

Wheel wax works a treat on vw's own wheels, mine were really knacked with burnt in rock salt, took a bit of effort to shift it but they're bling now! It works on BBS ones as well! Blood expensive for such a small tub though!!

I have some ACE112s which are diamond cut chrome, when i bought them R-tec gave me an info sheet on chrome/really shiny wheels, saying how many wheel cleaners are NOT good to use especicially when kerbed.

personally I sponge the alloys down weekly with fairy liquid in a bucket  It does the job a treat.

Yip can't beat soapy water and a bit of effort.

Nearly all of the wheel cleaners contain acid or alkaline that strips off the dirt, but if the wheels got a mark it attacks the wheels too, not good!

Also polishes contain abrassive ingredients, that's wot gives the shine, but it also thins the laquers/ chrome etc.

weve got some acidic stuff that is used on the other car and thats striped the paint from the calipers and the salt from the road doesnt help but still gotta be nasty stuff to do that
